Cordell electric department, city crews and Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority (OMPA), are hard at work trying to get power restored.

Update: There has been a report of one minor injury. We want to let you know that we will notify you when tarps are at City to pick up. Donations of hammers and nails would be appreciated to help with tarping efforts. Red Cross is set up at the Baptist Church, not the Fire Department.

The city of New Cordell has been hit by a tornado. We are assessing the damage. Red Cross is on the way. We have set up a shelter at the Baptist Church, no pets are allowed. At this time, we know we have multiple structures damaged, but no reported injuries. Electric crews are on the way to assist in getting power reconnected. Multiple surrounding emergency response agencies are on scene assisting. That is all the information that is currently available.
